Research and Innovation Services provides support and services for our academics working across the research and innovation life cycle with a focus on applying for and managing funding, and providing professional advice on collaborations and contracts. The directorate is comprised of four teams; Award Services, Contract Services, Planning, Insight and Improvement, and Compliance and Assurance, who all work together to deliver a service to support, advise and provide expertise to our academic community for our extensive and varied portfolio of externally funded projects. Award Services provides a range specialist advice to UCL's externally funded research and innovation portfolio through the departments of: Research Support & Development (Pre-award); European Research and Innovation Office; Research Finance and Compliance (Post-award). The service is delivered in partnership with academic and professional services colleagues across UCL, collaborating organisations, and funders

About the role

To provide a comprehensive and high-quality post award management support service to the UCL academic community and research funders. The Research Finance Administrator role will be responsible for the UK Underwrite guarantee portfolio and the new awards from EC Horizon Europe as main focus. The postholder will lead in the management of the post award financial and administrative activities for their externally funded research and innovation projects. The post holder will apply a detailed and expert knowledge and understanding of Funder and UCL’s policies, procedures and processes, delivering a consistent and visible support service to the academic community, Professional Services teams and Funders. This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site.

About you

You will be responsible for the post award management of a portfolio of research awards from UK Underwrite guarantee funding and new awards from EC Horizon Europe as a main focus, ensuring they are administered in accordance with the funder’s terms and conditions, UCL’s financial regulations, policies and procedures and financial budgets. You will have good knowledge of using financial programmes like Oracle and/or Microsoft Excel programme and relevant prior experience in these funding programmes.
