Are you an experienced leader in the Events, Hospitality or Services sector looking for a fresh challenge? 

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as Head of Events and Development Projects, where you will be responsible for leading the Events part of our business, along with a programme of development projects aligned with the strategic aims of the commercial department, including hotels, seasonal accommodation, hotels, and festivals. 

The Opportunity:

This exciting post offers significant opportunities to make a difference. The post holder will be integral to the future success of our events business and will play a key part in driving growth and delivering an excellent guest experience.   This post also provides the opportunity to get involved and make a difference to our broader commercial portfolio, taking the lead on cross departmental projects, particularly focussed on sustainability, social responsibility, and system/ technology development. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading Event and Enquiry managers and the overall Events team to deliver on strategic service and revenue objectives. 
  • Leading on a programme of development projects that deliver improvements across ACE’s portfolio of commercial businesses.  
  • Leading on 5-year budget planning for the Conference and Events part of ACE’s business, and providing regular updates / management information to give confidence in the progress being made against plans. 
  • Ensures that service standards are consistently delivered and that all staff are focused on delivering an exceptional guest experience. 
  • Analysing any issues in services, identifying trends and implementing solutions, evidenced by improving guest feedback scores. 
  • Working with Heads of Department in Business Development, Marketing and Catering on the delivery of strategic growth plans to maximise occupancy and deliver on annual revenue targets and KPIs
  • Managing resource, recruitment, induction and training 
  • All elements of quality assurance, carrying out regular observations and coaching and auditing key financial processes   
  • Continuous improvement and product development plans based on guest feedback and competitor benchmarking

Your skills and attributes for success. 

We are looking an experienced leader who has: 

  • Proven experience of working in a senior management role within the service industry
  • Experience of leading on change projects 
  • Ability to make decisions with conviction and confidence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and confidence to relate to staff at all levels and has confidence to challenge existing practices.
  • Can drive a culture of continuous improvement, listens to feedback from guests and the team and champions change.
  • Builds strong teams and creates a happy and positive working environment.
