Clinical Research Fellow

Full time: 40 hours/week
Fixed Term for 1 year

The Opportunity:

These fellowships are aimed at enabling outstanding predoctoral clinical fellows to obtain an externally funded clinical training PhD fellowship in a subject area related to the Themes and Pillars of the Edinburgh BHF Centre of Research Excellence: Diabetes and metabolic disease, vascular dementia, cardiac and renal disease, vascular endothelial biology, fibrosis, calcification, imaging and data science. 

This post is full-time (40 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• Outstanding predoctoral clinical fellow looking to obtain an externally funded clinical training PhD fellowship
• Excellent team player and collaborator to contribute as a key member of a team of researchers, under supervision from the Principal Investigator, recruiting patients, designing and developing protocols and submitting protocols for ethical and sponsor review 
• Exceptional communications skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate and up-to-date records to document research progress and take a lead role in writing up data for publication. 
• Drive and motivation to undertake training in in clinical and laboratory methods and maintain clinical skills by participation in clinical on-call, out-patient clinic, investigation lists and continuing professional development
