This is an exciting opportunity to support the leadership of a busy Payroll and Pensions team at a key time when the University is planning the transition to a new HR /Payroll platform in 2025. You will have a relevant payroll qualification, extensive payroll experience and experience of managing staff. You will be responsible for helping to ensure all policies, processes and procedures relating to payroll and employment tax are reviewed and maintained in line with legislative changes, support the Payroll and Pensions Manager in providing leadership to the team and be one of the key subject matter experts in all aspects of payroll, employment tax, national insurance and other associated taxes. You will be enthusiastic and committed to ensuring the service provided is accurate, efficient and customer focused, engaging with the University community to build knowledge and support on payroll related activities.
You will have significant experience in payroll administration in order to provide a professional and efficient service to approximately 4,000 salaried employees in addition to a flexible cohort. Working to tight deadlines whilst ensuring compliance with legislation and maintaining accuracy levels is essential. Adopting a proactive approach, you will identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively under the directions of the Payroll and Pensions Manager and wider Payroll and Pensions team as well as other key stakeholders to implement change.
