Job Summary
The Veselkov Lab at Imperial College London seeks an innovative Research Assistant/Associate to join a pioneering research initiative focused on the application of machine learning/AI in cancer research. The successful candidate will work within the Cancer Division of the Surgery and Cancer Department, developing and deploying cutting-edge models to analyse multi-source imaging and omics data, including volatilomics data. This position is crucial for advancing early detection techniques in esophagogastric cancer, supported by the CRUK AROMA programme.
Duties and responsibilities
You will work in a multidisciplinary team composed of clinicians, surgeons, biologists, and computational scientists. You will design and develop a computational strategy based on machine learning to interrogate and interpret complex imaging and omics data sets from genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and volatilomics. You will engage with the entire team to discuss problems, potential solutions, and collaborative approaches to move the project forward. You will also contribute to scientific papers, present research findings at conferences, and assist in grant proposal preparations.
