Derby College Group (DCG) are looking to appoint a Library Manager to join us and strategic development of the library function across our four campuses. In this role you will work closely with the Vice Principal and manage a team of Site Library Coordinators and Information Resource Technologists who work directly with our students.
This role will be based at our Roundhouse Campus on Pride Park, with flexibility to travel between sites when required.
The Opportunity
You’ll lead on the delivery of an innovative and efficient library service, that meets students’ study needs, enables personal development, supports academic research, and promotes independent learning. Proactively engaging with key internal stakeholders and students alike, you’ll respond to the changing requirements of the library service to ensure a variety of learners needs are met. You will be instrumental on the implementation and optimization of library management software, digital cataloguing systems, and other technology-driven tools to enhance the library user experience. Ensuring seamless access to e-books, online journals, databases, websites, and other digital media and resources, you will oversee the management and integration of digital resources and applications. The leadership and development of your team will be integral to your success in this role.
About you
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the ability to inspire confidence in others. To be successful in this role you’ll have excellent organisation and time management skills, as well as strong digital literacy. You’ll hold a Librarianship or similar qualification at Level 4 or above and will ideally have experience working within either FE or HE.
