The Research Associate will be based in the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) and Department of Chemistry working with Prof Jason Micklefield.
We are looking for an ambitious scientist who is keen to develop new biosynthetic pathways and/or chemoenzymatic routes to pharmaceutical targets (e.g. antibiotics and other important bioactive compounds). For examples of related previous work from our group see:

Applicants possessing relevant skills in either synthetic organic chemistry and biological chemistry, or biochemistry and molecular biology are encouraged to apply - we are open to candidates from both chemistry and biology backgrounds.
