St George’s has a long history of major research achievements and developing outstanding researchers in biomedical and health sciences. St George’s has created a new non-clinical lecturer post to further reinforce our key research strength in Global Health. Global Health is a strategic cross cutting research area focused on developing, evaluating and enabling the use of novel drug therapies, vaccines and other interventions for infectious diseases affecting low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
This post may be in any area from molecular infection through to public health. St George’s has strengths in many diseases affecting LMICs, including tuberculosis (TB), cryptococcal meningitis, and antimicrobial resistance. We also welcome applications which would expand our remit in global health research. This post has been created with the support of the UKRI International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF).
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their research potential by evidence of high-quality peer-reviewed publications and an ability to develop an original and competitive research programme in an area of Global Health. They will be expected to develop their research through a combination of research grant awards which may include personal research fellowships, publication of peer-reviewed papers, postgraduate research student supervision and intellectual property development.
