Postdoctoral Research Assistant

About the Role

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Translational Lymphoma Research group of Professor Jessica Okosun. Our lab aims to understand the biological mechanisms that underpin disease initiation, progression and the different clinical behaviours of specific B- and T-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas by investigating intra-tumour heterogeneity, clonal evolution, biomarkers of response and resistance to therapies and developing methodologies to study lymphoma cell populations (Okosun et al, 2014; 2016, Nature Genetics; Araf et al, Leukemia 2018; Poynton et al, Blood Adv 2023; Coulter et al, J Mol Diagn 2024). The successful postdoc will investigate pre- and post-treatment tumour and immune heterogeneity and spatial dynamics using patient samples and employing a combination of multi-modal single cell techniques (scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq).

About You

We are seeking highly-motivated researchers with a submitted PhD or PhD in molecular biology, genomics, immunology, bioinformatics or a relevant discipline with strong technical expertise in multi-omics approaches. Demonstrable experience with flow cytometry, single cell analytics and bioinformatics would be highly desirable.

The post is based at the Centre for Haemato-Oncology, BCI. It is full time, fixed term for 12 months in the first instance (potential for extension), with an expected start date of July 2024. The starting salary will be Grade 4 (Sp 29-33), in the range of £40,223 - £44,722 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
