This is an exciting opportunity for Administrative Assistant with experience in supporting health research to join an interdisciplinary team working on an NIHR-funded project " Changing the trajectories of mental health difficulties in Norfolk and Suffolk: a research-priority-setting project with patients, the public, clinicians, policymakers, and stakeholders."

This project is a collaboration between the University of East Anglia and the Centre for Society & Mental Health, King’s College London.

The overarching aim of this project is to define the mental health research priorities for our unique coastal, rural community in conjunction with stakeholders, the public, and mental health experts.

The main objectives include:

  • Consolidating existing and establishing new partnerships with key stakeholders to gain long-term investment in joint working.
  • Bringing together partners and stakeholders across Norfolk and Suffolk to conduct extensive scoping to identify mental health needs and priorities, particularly for rural, coastal, and migrant populations.
  • Conducting prioritisation workshops to gain stakeholder views to define the top 10 mental health research priorities from the project, which will form the basis of a larger scale programme of research addressing the identified priorities in the next five years.

This research is led by Dr Sheri Oduola, a psychiatric epidemiologist with extensive experience in social and health inequalities in diverse populations. Professor Joni Holmes, a leading expert in transdiagnostic approaches to children and young people's mental health and neurodevelopmental needs co-leads the project. Other team members bring further expertise in epidemiology, psychiatry, qualitative methods, primary care, clinical psychology, lived experience, and implementation science.

You will report to Dr Sheri Oduola and will be provided with support, guidance and training by project team members. In addition, you will work closely with colleagues at the Centre for Society and Mental Health, King’s College London and exploit external links with regional and national bodies such as government agencies, schools, colleges, professional bodies, businesses, and industry as appropriate to the subject discipline and School and/or University strategy.

You will have a good standard of secondary education or equivalent experience in a similar role. Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential as is the ability to manage a varied workload in a high paced environment. Previous experience in procurement processes, budget management and/or updating websites and social media would be advantageous.

This part-time 0.2FTE/7.25 hours per week post is available immediately on a fixed term basis until 31 May 2025.

UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working. Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.
