As one of the leading providers of Islamic Studies, we aim to deliver learning experiences which lead to the development of wider skill bases which prepare our students for postgraduate study and destinations within faith based organizations.
The post will be situated in the Institute’s Hasanat Centre for Islamic Studies and the successful candidate will be required to teach a range of modules across the center’s flagship Arabic and Islamic Studies programme which is mapped to undergraduate level.
The ideal candidate will be:
Main Tasks
Planning and Preparation - The successful candidate will develop and produce teaching materials as required, in respect to module specifications and schemes of work.
Teaching – The appointed person will contribute to the delivery of modules across the programme(s) of study, several of which involve the teaching of classic texts in Fiqh, Aqida, and Hadith. The modules include:
Arabic Language: spoken and written, Arabic Literature: Classical and Modern Arabic literature, Grammar (nahw), Morphology (sarf), Rhetoric (balaghah), Quranic Exegesis (tafsir), Quranic elocution (tajwid), Sciences of the Quran (Ulum al-Quran), Hadith Studies, Hadith nomenclature/principles (Usul al-hadith), Islamic Jurisprudence (fiqh), Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence (usul ul fiqh), Theology (aqidah), Islamic Philosophy, Islamic History
Assessment - He/she will undertake assessments and keep accurate records.
Administration – He/she will undertake administrative tasks relating to programme(s) of study.
