This is an exciting opportunity for a post-doctoral researcher to join a research project within the SKOPE Centre at the Department of Education, University of Oxford. The project aims to explore system-thinking approaches in tertiary education policy-making, to support coordination, collaboration, and synergies within the system in England, while facilitating regionalisation and ‘levelling up’. The project is in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, and is funded by a John Fell Fund grant from the University of Oxford.
We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to join our enthusiastic research team. Your main responsibilities will include: reviewing existing evidence and literature, co-designing and organising stakeholders’ workshops, managing and analysing qualitative data, collaborating in the preparation of publications and dissemination materials, presenting papers at conferences and meetings, and carrying out collaborative activities with colleagues in partner institutions and within SKOPE.
You will hold a relevant PhD qualification (or be close to completion), with sufficient relevant research expertise, experiences, and specialist knowledge in the field and about the project topic. You will also have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, to be able to work independently and as part of the team, representing the team, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
This position is full-time, on a fixed-term basis until 30th April 2025.
If you have questions regarding the post, please contact the Principal Investigator Dr Xin Xu (xin.xu@education.ox.ac.uk).
Please see the job description for further details of the role. You will be required to send a CV and supporting statement as part of your application. We encourage you to organise the supporting statement by subheadings, explaining how you meet the essential and desirable criteria for this post. Please also provide details of two referees and indicate whether we can contact them now.
Only applications received by midday on 7 June 2024 will be considered. Interviews are expected to be held as soon as possible thereafter.
