Applicants are invited to join the Centre for Social Work team at the University of Nottingham as a Teaching Associate . The Centre for Social Work forms part of the School of Sociology and Social Policy (SSP) which is a vibrant, diverse and exciting hub for social science teaching and research.  

The Centre for Social Work offers Social Work England (SWE)-accredited undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes and is an active member of the D2N2 Social Work Teaching Partnership. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has a passion for teaching and working with social work students.  

The successful candidate will have responsibilities for organising, developing and delivering teaching and assessment across both the BA and MA Social Work programmes. They will also be expected to provide tutoring for students across both programmes. In addition to teaching and student support this role also involves administrative responsibilities and close working with colleagues in partner agencies across the D2N2 Teaching Partnership. 

The University of Nottingham is a global university with an excellent record for its teaching and research: we are ranked no.7 for social work in the Complete University Guide 2024 and no.6 for social work in The Times guide 2024. 

This post is offered on a fixed-term contract from 1 August 2024 until 31 July 2025. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours.
