Applications are invited for the post of College Teaching Officer in HSPS with effect from 1 October 2024. The successful candidate will be required to teach undergraduates, and act as a Director of Studies, for the Cambridge HSPS Tripos. The postholder should preferably be in a position to teach broadly across at least one of the key subject areas within the HSPS Tripos tracks; Social Anthropology, Sociology, and Politics and International Studies.
The position is for a fixed term of five years. The post is intended to give someone near the beginning of an academic career an opportunity to acquire training and experience that will lead to a permanent University appointment. Consideration will therefore be given only to candidates who by the starting-date expect to have a PhD but not to have completed no more than five years of post-PhD academic employment. Competitive candidates would be expected to have a research profile commensurate with their stage of career.
The College Teaching Officer will be appointed at the University Single Salary Spine Point 42 with annual increments, including an inflationary increase, up to Spine Point 46 (https://www.hr.admin.cam.ac.uk/files/single_salary_spine_as_at_1_august_2023.pdf), with supplements for additional duties.
The closing date is 12 noon Monday 3 June 2024. Candidates should submit a covering letter and CV with references.
