Registered Veterinary Nurse - Internal Medicine

Full time: 35 hours per week

Fixed Term (12 months)

Shifts are routinely 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday 

Our nurses work one weekend shift per month (on average) which is paid as overtime. With this contractual overtime the annual salary range for Grade UE06 will rise to £35,573 - £41,206.  

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated internal medicine nursing team at the Hospital for Small Animals for a maternity leave cover.  We are looking for a registered veterinary nurse (RVN) who is well organised and is able to work as part of a team as well as with a level of autonomy. 

The Opportunity:

Our Internal Medicine Service specialises in complex medical problems, which are often difficult to diagnose or treat.  We offer a full range of investigative diagnosis and treatment for medical problems including endocrine, gastrointestinal, hepatic, renal, nasal and haematological diseases. We are aided by advanced facilities including flexible video-endoscopy, which allows examination and biopsy of the gastro-intestinal, urinary and respiratory tracts. 

Full and in-depth training will be provided while shadowing experienced nursing staff in all areas of the hospital. 

 Your skills and attributes for success: 

• Being an RCVS registered veterinary nurse is essential.  
• Excellent organisational and communications skills are essential.   
• Keen dedication to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses is essential.
