We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated person as a postdoctoral research associate in the development of non-toxic perovskite solar cells.
This post supports an EPSRC funded project titled ‘Printing Perovskite Solar Cells: Reducing Toxicity and Improving Scalability’. You will work on the discovery of new perovskite inks to support low cost and scalable manufacturing processes.
You will carry out experiments on the deposition of novel photovoltaic absorber materials, and the fabrication and testing of perovskite solar cells. The role is expected to require synthesis of precursor compounds, ink formulation, and device fabrication.
We are looking for a person with experience of synthesising inks and forming thin films, particularly someone with a chemistry background. Knowledge of lead-halide based perovskites is welcome and work on lead-free material will be especially valuable. Additional experience in solubility theory, ionic liquids, and non-toxic chemical selection (for example, using the CHEM21 criteria) will be useful.
You should have a PHD in either a Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Physics or Chemistry.
This post is available for a 24 month fixed term tenure.
Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
