About the Role
Following on from our excellent REF 2021 results, this is a fantastic time to join a newly formed team and this particularly exciting role has a focus on developing systems for the collection and organisation of data, producing reports to inform decision making, as well as providing system admin and ITS support for the core systems in use in the Division.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with academic and professional services colleagues across the institution, helping to deliver the vital management information which underpins and informs our Research aims and ambitions.
About you
You will have extensive experience of delivering insightful business intelligence, ideally within a Higher Education setting.
You will also have strong analytical skills, display excellent attention to detail and an ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences visually, in written form and verbally.
About Our Division
The Research Information, Quality and Impact Team is a close-knit, highly collaborative team of approximately eight colleagues who work together on projects and activities central to the University of Sussex’s research strategy and management.
The Research and Innovation Services division, within which the team is based, is a group of over 100 colleagues who work together to provide Sussex researchers with expertise and support throughout the research lifecycle and throughout their whole career. Many members of the division have experience of working as researchers in their own right, and there is a culture of expertise sharing and joined-up working in all that we do. The division supports hybrid working, and we sensitively and pro-actively support colleagues who have caring responsibilities; we also support flexible working, and all requests to work on a part-time basis are considered under the University’s Flexible Working Policy.
The division is based in Falmer House, in the heart of the Sussex campus, surrounded by leafy green space and on the doorstep of the South Downs National Park, the boundary of which begins only a few metres from the office, making it ideal for a lunchtime walk, run or cycle.
