Job context
The London Social Venture Fund Project (LSVF) is a collaboration of ten universities building a collective programme to develop a social venture fund. The project has a team of six. This role combines management of the project with executive support for the Director, who is also based at QMI. The rest of the team are employed by four other universities.
Queen Mary Innovation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Queen Mary University of London. Our role is to work with academics and their innovations from across the whole university to use commercial tools to maximise their impact on the economy and society, transforming lives both globally and across our richly diverse community in East London. QMI social venture activity will be aligned with and support the LSVF.
Job purpose
This role will lead the administration and project management of LSVF and will ensure the Director and the wider team can function to the highest standards. This will include working with the Finance Director of QMI and of the other universities, as well as the funder, Research England, to ensure smooth administration and reporting.
The post holder will be line managed by the Director of the LSVF and will work closely with the whole LSVF team.
The post-holder will collect and collate data from the project as directed by the Director.
The post holder will be expected to develop positive working relationships with a broad range of individuals and work effectively across teams and will need therefore need interpersonal and communication skills.
The role is predominantly based at the Queen Mary BioEnterprises Innovation Centre, Whitechapel, but there will be a requirement to carry out duties at other sites and other universities in London as necessary.
