A home to research excellence, Surrey provides world-class research facilities and an environment to nurture and develop academic research into real world commercial applications.

We are seeking to appoint a Data and Systems Analyst to work alongside our Data and Systems Lead in supporting an improved approach to data and systems use within our department.

The Role

Reporting to the Student Experience Lead, this role will work with the Data and Systems Lead to develop a data strategy for the Chief Student Officer’s team (CSO). This strategy will ensure that key data is collected and regularly reported on in support of data driven decision making and a continuous improvement approach across the directorate. The Data and Systems Analyst will work closely with the Heads of Services in agreeing the data strategy and setting up regular data collection and reporting to meet service needs and support the enhancement of operational efficiency. They will also support CSO team members in the adoption, development, and ongoing management of systems to support the work of the team.

About You

Strong IT skills and good technical capability ideally with practical experience of configuring, supporting, and maintaining an IT System Solution is key, but previous experience in the Higher Education sector is not and we are keen to hear from any individual who believes they have skills and experience that are a match to our job profile. Beyond that, an ability to operate in a dynamic, fast changing, complex environment is essential.

What we can offer

In addition to salary, you will receive a yearly incremental pay rise, generous annual leave entitlement of 25 days holiday plus 7 university closure days and 8 bank holidays (pro rata for part time roles), a generous pension, access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes, and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery.

How to apply

To apply for this role, please submit your CV and a cover letter.

Interviews will be held on campus on the 28th June.

For an informal conversation please contact Phillip James p.james@surrey.ac.uk
