The post

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in the "Renewing biodiversity through a people-in-nature approach (RENEW)” project. This project seeks to develop solutions to one of the major environmental challenges for humankind, the renewal of biodiversity. This NERC funded post is available from 1 August 2024 for two years. The successful applicant will undertake data collection and analysis to address key questions about the variation in and temporal dynamics of people's relationships with nature, and their consequences.

About you

The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will be a nationally recognised authority in ecology and/or human-nature relationships, and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required. Applicants should have prior experience of working with large environmental and/or social datasets and should have proficiency in statistical analysis.
