About the Role
The post-holder will bring together their Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) or related experience, research knowledge and organisational skills to coordinate PPI and engagement for the centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering our PPI strategy with the support of the PPI leadership / advisory team. They will work with our researchers and PPI contributors to ensure our PPI strategy is successful in meeting the needs of the centre. They will also work with PPI leads in the wider institute to help develop PPI institute strategy. They will help coordinate relevant engagement activities to share our research with the public and contribute to our communications strategy by assisting with social media activity and blog.
About You
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a research and/or social science area OR equivalent experience. They will be aware of/ can determine existing best practices in PPI and use this knowledge to refine our PPI strategy, ensuring that meaningful PPI is incorporated into our research. They will be confident communicating with diverse sectors of society and adapting their language and communications for the relevant group. They will be adept at facilitating workshops with PPI members to elicit their views on complex topics and be capable of organising creative public engagement events to share our results with relevant members of the public. The successful candidate will be flexible and highly self-motivated, and able to meet tight deadlines with limited supervision.
About the Centre
The Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis forms part of the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. The centre brings together groups focusing on risk prediction, prevention, screening and early detection, and enhancing cancer diagnosis via general practice.

The post is across the Charterhouse Square and Whitechapel campuses in London. It is a full time, permanent appointment, with an expected start date of June 2024. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £38,165 - £44,722 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
