The University of Nottingham, in collaboration with the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), has developed four pioneering and interprofessional postgraduate programmes in rehabilitation. These innovative programmes offer students an academic, clinical, and holistic perspective on rehabilitation, providing access to patients and clinicians within the NRC. Two of these programmes are hosted by the School of Health Sciences (SoHS).

As one of the four Schools in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), the SoHS offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, sport rehabilitation, and allied health professions. We are committed to fostering an environment where individuals thrive, feel supported, and valued, with a strong emphasis on managing health, safety, and mental wellbeing.

Our mission is to educate and nurture the brightest students, empowering them to transform lives and communities locally, nationally, and internationally.

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor to support the development of modules for the upcoming NRC-MSc programmes, particularly those focusing on rehabilitation and health technology. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying teaching and learning activities to ensure content, delivery methods, and materials meet learning objectives.
  • Applying initiative and creativity in teaching and assessment.
  • Adhering to the University and School’s Learning and Teaching Strategies.
  • Demonstrating evidence-based educational practice.
  • Collaborating with academic plan leads.
  • Preparing and undertaking teaching activities, including assessment and tutorial support.
  • Developing the curriculum.
  • Integrating research related to rehabilitation and health technology into the NRC-MSc programmes.
  • Contributing to the development of NRC-MSc programmes in collaboration with the wider team.

Successful candidates will excel in their roles and actively engage in additional teaching and learning activities.

This is a fixed-term post available until 15th January 2025. Hours of work are part-time (14.5 hours per week).

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
