Resource Development Assistant

Kingston University – School of Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Chemistry

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences on the area of curriculum development. This post forms part of our continuing work on ensuring our curricula are inclusive and support the outcomes of all our students, regardless of their background. The purpose of the role is to create, curate and support the development of educational content for chemistry and the related curriculum. It involves collaborations with key stakeholders across Kingston University, Brighton University, and Imperial College London. You will collaborate with students and staff from the three institutions to design and create a range of student and staff-facing resources such as teaching materials/toolkits that explore race equality within the chemical sciences through the Sustainable Development Goals. This post is funded through the Royal Society of Chemistry “Missing Elements Grant”. The Person

We are seeking an individual who possesses a commitment to inclusivity and demonstrates respect for diversity. You will either be at the later stages of completing a PhD in Chemistry or related field, or you may hold a Chemistry related masters. Ideally you will be someone who has gained UKPSF recognition at AFHEA so that you are familiar with curriculum design. With your Chemistry related expertise, and a passion for inclusivity you will explore which Global Chemistry Challenges should be embedded within the curriculum to encourage social and cultural conversations to take place. We are seeking someone who can approach challenges with a creative mindset to curate teaching resources that will be utilised in Chemistry and related Higher Education Curriculum.

We live in a world where there is so much information out there about vital subjects such as cancer biology, pharmacy and sport and nutrition, but it is the real world application of these areas of study that really makes our school stand out.

This is a full time, fixed term position for 12 months with a starting salary of £37,646 per annum.
