We are seeking a Reporting Officer, with strong Power BI skills, to support the design and delivery of reporting solutions for management information relating to Student Lifecycle data, in liaison with stakeholders.

You will work closely with the Senior Student Lifecycle Reporting Officer to design reports that will be key to making informed and accurate University decisions by senior staff, and for feeding into a variety of the University’s external Statutory Returns.

You will be based within the Student Systems Team and will assist in the development of reporting assets for use in fulfilling these obligations, ensuring that the data we compile is accurate and does not expose us to financial penalties or inaccuracies.

This post will suit you if you have experience in using analytics tools and complex databases, and enjoy translating large datasets into a range of reports and tools to support the wider business.

Duties and responsibilities

  • You will assist on the production of reporting assets using Microsoft PowerBI according to prioritised need, using a ‘consult, produce, review, rework’ iterative process, ensuring stakeholders are consulted and satisfied with outputs.
  • You will contribute to the work of the University’s Management Information project from a Student Lifecycle perspective, producing reporting assets using the functionality they deliver, and defining the requirements for Student Lifecycle data functionality.

Essential requirements

  • Experience using analytics tools and complex databases (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, OBIEE, QlikView etc)
  • Experience of reviewing and developing systems in order to respond to changes in working practices
  • Proven ability in the provision and analysis of statistical information
  • Broad experience, acquired through a combination of job-related training and on-the-job experience, demonstrating professional development

This is a full time, fixed term post until 30 November 2026.

Hybrid working may be considered for this role.  Staff working in roles that are suitable for hybrid working will normally be expected to work 60% of their time onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
