Job description

The opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a new project under the auspices of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol to promote the Welsh language and to encourage and support Cardiff Metropolitan University students to study through the medium of Welsh. 

The officer's main responsibility will be to implement plans and interventions to increase the percentage of students with Welsh language skills who choose to study through Welsh. The work will require building close relationships with students and working closely with staff who are responsible for planning, promoting and maintaining the Welsh language provision.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about the development of Welsh language education, an organised administrator with a creative mind, and able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. They will be able to implement plans in proactive ways working independently, but also as a member of a team.

Dyma gyfle rhagorol i chwarae rhan allweddol mewn project newydd o dan nawdd y Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol i hyrwyddo’r Gymraeg ac i annog a chefnogi myfyrwyr Prifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd i astudio drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg.

Prif gyfrifoldeb y swyddog fydd gweithredu cynlluniau ac ymyriadau i gynyddu’r ganran o fyfyrwyr gyda sgiliau Cymraeg sy’n dewis astudio drwy’r Gymraeg. Bydd y gwaith yn gofyn am feithrin cysylltiadau agos gyda myfyrwyr a chydweithio’n agos â staff sy’n gyfrifol am gynllunio, hyrwyddo a chynnal y ddarpariaeth Gymraeg yn y brifysgol.

Beth rydym yn chwilio amdano

Bydd yr ymgeisydd llwyddiannus yn frwd dros ddatblygiad addysg Gymraeg, yn weinyddwr trefnus gyda meddwl creadigol, ac yn gallu cyfathrebu’n effeithiol ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig. Bydd yn gallu rhoi cynlluniau ar waith mewn ffyrdd rhagweithiol gan weithio’n annibynnol, ond hefyd fel aelod o dîm.
