The Research Operations Office is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as a Senior Audit and Compliance Analyst on a permanent basis. As a member of the Research Office team, you will work alongside departments, academics and Research Operations staff to administer the audits of the University's portfolio of research grants and to provide professional service to departments in supporting them in meeting their assurance requirements from sponsors and their terms and conditions.
The Senior Audit and Compliance Analyst coordinates all funder-led audit visits both externally and internally, ensuring they run efficiently and effectively, and findings are appropriately highlighted and then coordinated to a resolution.
The role will provide proactive support to the departments across the University on effective implementation of funder's terms and conditions as well as University policies to avoid the University's failure to meet its regulatory obligations in managing grants and thereby being penalised for non-compliance.
The role will also support the Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager and Quality Assurance and Compliance Coordinator with activities related to assurance and compliance reviews of research funding and its administration across the University.
We are looking for a proactive individual, with great interpersonal, numerical, organisational and analytical skills. The successful candidate will have experience of working in multi-stakeholder environment and funding support as well as experience of working in an audit, compliance or assurance function. They will be educated to a degree level (or equivalent) and knowledge of sponsors terms and conditions (for example EC, UKRI, Welcome Trust, NIH, CRUK, BHF) is preferable but not essential.
Your application should clearly set out how you meet the criteria listed in the person specification (the skills and experience required for the role) along with relevant examples. Candidates will be shortlisted based on these criteria.
Additional information regarding the role may be found within the 'Further Particulars' document via the 'Apply' button above.
