This opportunity would ideally suit a Band 7 or above Art Therapist working in an NHS health and social care setting or educational setting (or equivalent) that has expertise in formal teaching, training, and supervision and/or those with previous Higher Education experience.
The role
Our Department of Allied Health Professions is one of the UK’s leading teaching centres of healthcare pre-registration courses and one of the first universities to offer an MA Art Psychotherapy (pre-registration) course with full-time and part-time routes.
Your will be responsible for leading a workstream within our Art Therapy courses and inter-professional portfolio. We are looking for individuals who can inspire our learners, drawing on their own academic and practice-based experiences to make a valuable contribution to teaching and learning whilst preparing learners for contemporary practice as registered Art Therapists.
Alongside this, is the opportunity to develop your career, further your own academic profile and enhance your teaching through studying for a Postgraduate Certificate- Teaching in Higher Education.
You will ideally be at the forefront of new ways of working in health primary or secondary care settings or education settings or equivalent and be able to demonstrate care innovation and effective integrated working in service provision.
We are currently developing a team to support practice learning activities across our Art Therapy courses. It is envisaged this post will lead and co-ordinate placement learning supporting innovation and quality of Art Therapy practice education in higher education, building and retaining strong partnership working with placement providers across health and social care sectors, education sector and with private independent voluntary organisations.
This role also requires you to contribute to our pre-registration MA Art Psychotherapy courses through teaching, assessing, academic citizenship and research activity. The ability to inspire, enthuse and connect with a range of backgrounds is required. You will support academic, and placement learning progression and work collaboratively to enhance the student experience.
The Team/Subject Group
The Art Therapy Team is located within the Occupational Therapy, Dietetics and Art Therapy Subject Group and sits within the Depart of AHP in the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences. You can find out more about the Department Allied Health Professions.
