Main duties and responsibilities
The School of Life and Medical Sciences at the University of Hertfordshire is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to make a major contribution to the BSc (Hons) and the Degree Apprenticeship programs in Sports Business Management. Contributing to the teaching and administration across the undergraduate degree programmes in our Institute of Sport portfolio, specifically in the areas of Sports Business Management, Sports Studies, Sports Studies with Psychology and Sports Coaching. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their career by contributing to the School’s research and commercial/consultancy activities, and to the development and administration of undergraduate and postgraduate courses within their area of expertise.
Skill and experience required
You will bring applied sports business management experience and relevant qualifications to this role. Applications will be welcomed from those with previous academic lecturing and research experience, consummate with their career stage.
Proficient in English, you will have effective communication skills, with the ability to work to deadlines. Effective pastoral skills are essential, as is the ability to teach online and face to face, for lectures, workshops, and seminar sessions.
You will bring the ability to work constructively as part of a team, with a flexible approach.
Qualifications required
You will have an honour’s degree and a Postgraduate qualification in sports business management or a relevant discipline. Desirable qualifications include a Doctoral qualification in sports business management or equivalent in the relevant subject area, a HE Teaching Qualification and having Membership to a relevant professional body.
