About us
The Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London is one of the oldest law schools in England and recognised as one of the best law schools in the world.
We are based in the East Wing of Somerset House, a Grade One listed building, on our Strand Campus, a short walk from the Royal Courts of Justice and Inns of Court in the heart of legal London. Our location enables us to have excellent contacts with practitioners and policymakers, and we have a strong tradition of engagement with the legal profession.
About the role
The Dickson Poon School of Law is seeking to appoint two Lecturers or Senior Lecturers in Law who will contribute to the teaching, research, and other academic and professional activities at The Dickson Poon School of Law in Digital Law.
The successful candidates are expected to have completed a PhD by the starting date (or for the lecturer role, be demonstrably nearing the completion of a PhD by the starting date). They should be keen to gain further experience in research led teaching roles with active involvement in the administration and academic life of a thriving law school.
The successful candidates’ principal teaching contribution will be on our postgraduate programmes (online, on-campus and overseas) in Financial Law and/or Fintech. This should include one of more of the following areas: international syndicated loans and bonds; leveraged loans and high yield bonds; securitisation; derivatives; project finance; or equity capital markets. Additionally, post-holders may be asked to contribute to the undergraduate programmes, including our core modules.
In relation to their research, the successful candidates will have a demonstrably high potential to attract research funding, will be impact-focused and able contribute, if applicable, to the research priorities of the research centres in the School of Law.
The successful candidates will be welcomed as an integral part of our faculty. It is an exciting time to join us as we implement our new vision and strategic direction. This role will contribute to how we shape the future of our vibrant and internationally renowned Law School.
