We are looking for an enthusiastic, proficient Clinical Fellow with appropriate training in diabetes and Endocrinology to work on a research study on type 2 diabetes (T2D) remission by weight loss. The post holder will work directly within Dr Ahmad Al-Mrabeh’s diabetes research team at the Centre for Cardiovascular Science/Queen’s Medical Research Institute and the Clincal Research Facility/Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
You will contribute to the overall recruitment, management, and execution of this clinical study by liaising directly with the Chief Investigator. The post holder will also interact with diabetes research team at the General Western Hospital, Edinburgh Centre for Diabetes & Endocrinology, and the Clinical Research Facility staff at the Royal Infirmary to ensure efficient delivery of this single centre MRC funded study. This is a fixed term contract for 2 years with the potential to extend for an additional year. The post holder is expected to enrol for a higher degree such as an MD (or PhD if additional funding is secured) under supervision of Dr Ahmad Al-Mrabeh and Prof Roland Stimson.
This post is full-time (40 hours per week) and requires working on campus mainly during normal hours. Flexibility is occasionally required for out of hours working.
