About the Role
The School of EECS at Queen Mary University of London seeks to appoint a Research Assistant or Postdoctoral Research Assistant for the Innovate UK project “Maestro - AI Musical Analysis Platform”, in collaboration with Algorivm Ltd. The responsibilities of the role are to investigate, implement, and evaluate machine learning technologies for audio and music performance analysis; lead and co-author publications; and collaborate with project partners.
This role is supported by AI Futures Grants, a UK Government scheme designed to help the next generation of AI leaders meet the costs of relocating to the UK. AI Futures Grants provide financial support to reimburse relocation costs such as visa fees, the immigration health surcharge and travel/subsistence expenses. Successful candidates for this role may be able to get up to £10,000 to meet relocations costs, subject to terms and conditions
About You
Applicants must hold a degree (PhD for post-doctoral level) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. Candidates should have experience with deep learning methods, music information retrieval, audio processing or a related discipline and strong programming skills in Python. Candidates will have a demonstrable ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as experience with conducting research, understanding the research process and summarising findings.
