The Thoracic Cancer Programme within the University of Cambridge Department of Oncology is seeking a programme manager. The programme, which is funded by Cancer Research UK, is led jointly by Professor Robert Rintoul and Dr Daniel Munoz-Espin. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team and will manage the programme and its projects, reporting to the CRUK Scientific Operations Manager.
The post offers an opportunity for the development of your programme and project management skills, working in close collaboration with a multi-disciplinary group of researchers, and a team of fellow programme managers within the CRUK Cambridge Centre.
You will manage the programme's budgets, communications, reporting and support the programme leads in setting strategy. Experience of co-writing grant applications and funding bids is desirable as well as experience working with clinical/translational research teams. You will also be required to organise symposia so event management experience in an academic setting would be advantageous.
Candidates are expected to have a science degree and experience of project management in an academic or clinical setting.
Informal enquiries may be directed to Professor Robert Rintoul robert.rintoul@nhs.net or Dr Daniel Munoz-Espin dm742@cam.ac.uk
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2027 in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a standard Disclosure and Barring Service check. This appointment also requires a Research Passport application.
