Fixed term contract for a maximum of 30 months, restricted to end by 31st March 2027.
A senior technician is required to work on a project investigating how soil nutrient cycling processes can be managed to prevent nutrient losses which contribute to climate change and environmental pollution. The project will use a variety of microbiological, molecular and chemical methods to study the processes underlying the transformations and bioavailability of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus including greenhouse gas emissions. The postholder will set-up, manage and analyse experiments under field and controlled environment conditions. The work will be part of a research project involving parallel collaborative work undertaken in Ireland and Germany, and the postholder will work closely with these teams.
About You
We are looking for someone with expertise in the set-up, maintenance and sampling of laboratory and field experiments, and the microbiological, chemical and molecular analysis of environmental samples, but we also welcome applications from people with well developed laboratory analytical skills.
