Following significant investment by the University in the learning environment and the student experience, we are seeking to appoint on a one-year fixed–term contract a motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Law to join our Law team and assist in driving our ambitious programme of strategic change.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering research-informed teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate Law courses. An integral part of the role will be to work with colleagues to develop and deliver new practice-based units within the Law curriculum and programmes.
Applications are encouraged from candidates with expertise in and ability to teach one or more core LLB subjects and a good range of specialist subjects. We particularly welcome applications by candidates with academic and/or professional expertise in Aviation Law, Intellectual Property Law, Medical Law, Conveyancing, Commercial and Company Law, Equity and Trust Law.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Law or equivalent professional experience, be an excellent communicator, enjoy working as part of a team and be able to demonstrate either an established track-record of excellent individual research or strong potential in that regard. Professional qualification as a solicitor or barrister and recent experience of legal practice would be an advantage
Candidates should have a proven commitment to providing transformative legal education and widening access to the legal profession. Experience of curriculum design and development as well as previous experience of engagement with external partners and delivering HE provision across a distributed campus would be an advantage. We strongly encourage applications from candidates with demonstrated experience of development and delivery of professional legal training programmes.
The post will be based at the Luton campus, with travel to other campuses as required. Opportunities for delivery at our international partner campuses may also be available.Interviews will be held on Wednesday, 11 September 2024
