About The Role
The SeRP (Secure Research Platform) is a technology set developed by the Population Data Science group within the Swansea University Medical School. Initially developed as the supporting technology platform for the world leading SAIL Databank, the infrastructure rapidly expanded to include a large UK and global clientele.
SeRP is now an internationally recognised and accredited technology platform. The highly skilled and specialised SeRP team also provide bespoke technical, governance and business support services to the research community on a consultancy basis to assist with the storing and secure sharing of research datasets for the purpose of assisting research activity. SeRP currently has a portfolio of active projects worth >£50M.
The post holder will take a lead role in maintaining the existing technical architecture, and development and implementation of new hardware and network solutions. SeRP relies heavily on automation, so knowledge of / experience in using automation would be a considerable advantage. There are occasional opportunities for overseas travel to assist international clients.

Welsh Language Skills
The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
