This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a team of staff in Keele University’s School of Medicine.

The School of Medicine has an intake of 170-180 home undergraduate medical students for its highly rated, innovative integrated MBChB five-year course that is committed to “Graduating Excellent Clinicians”. The most recent GMC Preparedness for Foundation Doctors survey ranked Keele no 1 in UK medical schools 2021. The School also offers a range of programmes, modules and short courses in postgraduate medicine aimed at addressing the differing needs of healthcare professionals at different stages in their careers. Courses offered include Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Masters in Clinical Education, and a range of Masters modules. It launched a two-year full-time MSc in Physician Associate Studies in 2019.
This is a fixed term Clinical Fellowship of 12 months, to support the academic development of the post holder though participation in the implementation and delivery of the undergraduate curriculum. The Fellow will be offered an opportunity to complete either the Keele Certificate in Clinical Education, or the Diploma or Masters if the post holder already possesses the Certificate. There will be financial support from the Medical School towards course fees. If interested in a career in medical education the post holder may be supported in developing an application for a doctoral training fellowship. There is some flexibility around the days of work.
The appointee will join a strong Academic General Practice team which works across undergraduate and postgraduate sectors and which collaborates closely across primary/secondary care and inter-professional boundaries.
