Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor in Bioinformatics within the School of Life Sciences, University of Nottingham.

This teaching and learning-focussed role will provide a consistently excellent standard of teaching and support for student learning, underpinned by scholarship related to the discipline. The post holder will undertake teaching responsibilities particularly in our MSc in Bioinformatics, as well as in relevant parts of our BSc programmes. 

You will be experienced in a broad range of bioinformatics and programming teaching. We would welcome a contribution to our delivery of training in computer programming and machine learning. You will also lead on developing the current curriculum and innovative approaches to learning and assessment. You will also act as a personal tutor and supervise project students. There is also an opportunity to contribute to the development of significant global partnerships.

The appointee will support student learning and deliver a consistently excellent standard of teaching, underpinned by scholarship; contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance and enhancement; undertake continuing professional development; and work in partnership with staff and students to maintain the highest standards in all areas of their work.

You will have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant subject, a successful track record in teaching and experience in leadership in an area related to education and the student experience. The post is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week), permanent contract. However, we are open to discuss flexible working arrangements, and job share arrangements may be considered.
