About the vacancy:
The School of Social Sciences at the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol is seeking to appoint a Health Psychologist. The post is a permanent, 1FTE Senior Lecturer position and would be pleased to hear from those with leadership experience and a commitment to innovative and high-quality teaching.
You will contribute to the highly regarded Health Psychology provision, and in particular lead the MSc in Health Psychology programme. The successful applicant will be a Chartered Psychologist holding full BPS membership of the Division of Health Psychology or HCPC registered Health Psychologist and eligible for Chartered Psychologist status and full BPS membership of the Division of Health Psychology.
The post is based within the interdisciplinary School of Social Sciences within the College of Health, Science and Society and contribute to the Psychological Sciences Research Group (PSRG). Our staff are professional practitioners and researchers at the forefront of their specialist areas. Our students benefit from their cutting-edge insight, practical experience, and innovative approaches to teaching. We collaborate closely with employers and stakeholders to ensure that our curricula remain current, topical, and relevant to societal needs.
We offer a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and other professional bodies. We are focussed on the delivery of high-quality teaching with a strong emphasis on the application of academic understanding to real-world contexts with impact.
About you:
We are seeking an individual to join our successful and highly committed team in the delivery of our Health Psychology programmes. The successful applicants will have a prominent profile in the field of Health Psychology and a track record in leadership of teams; delivering a high-quality learning experience; planning and managing the delivery of curricula to ensure academic content, coherence, quality and conformity with university regulations and professional body requirements. You will ensure the development and implementation of effective learning and a valuable experience for students and support delivery of teaching and skills development across Psychology provisions.
