The post holder will be a member of the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN). WIN conducts research in methods and modelling of brain imaging data, including functional MRI, diffusion MRI, and structural MRI. WIN members have developed the widely used FMRIB Software Library (FSL), which enables the methods created within WIN to have a worldwide impact on the neuroimaging community.
The post holder will work with clinical researchers and members of the FSL team to develop neuroimaging software aimed at clinical use and clinical research. Duties will include: software development activities to enhance existing software for clinical use (including building clinically-oriented user interfaces around core image processing tools, and interfacing with hospital image storage systems); develop new software for neuroimaging analysis; contribute to ongoing and new research projects; build and enhance software test systems; and maintain existing software projects as required. This role involves interacting with software engineers, researchers, clinicians, and regulatory consultants. Excellent communication skills are essential.
The post holder will contribute to software that may be part of a company that Oxford University aims to spinout soon. In the event that a spinout company is formed, the post holder may be offered an opportunity to join, subject to all required department approvals (though this current post within Oxford University will exist for at least 2 years regardless).
Please see the below 'Job Description' for further details on the responsibilities and selection criteria, as well as further information about the university and how to apply.
The post is full time for a fixed term of 2 years in the first instance.
Only applications received before 12.00 midday on Tuesday 17th September will be considered.
Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.
