Birmingham City University is recruiting a Research Assistant to support Dr Rui Paulo on a research project funded by the Leverhulme Trust. This project is focused on using virtual reality environments to evaluate the effectiveness of eyewitness interviewing techniques using realistic 360-degree crime scenarios. Further, this project aims to make new recommendations for police practice/legislation by evaluating the effectiveness of virtual interview rooms in enhancing eyewitness memory.
Under supervision, you will undertake research in the field of eyewitness memory and investigative interviewing and support the Lead Investigator and other staff assisting with the research. You will assist in the lab by collecting, scoring and performing quantitative analysis for experimental studies testing how different virtual reality environments and retrieval strategies can be used to enhance eyewitness memory and improve police investigations.
