About the Department
SOAS is a global university in the heart of London’s vibrant university quarter, with a more diverse staff and student base than virtually any other in the UK. Our scholarship spans the arts, humanities and social sciences. Our expertise is deeply and uniquely rooted in the political, social, economic, historical and cultural dynamics of Africa, Asia and the Middle East and their diasporas, which collectively account for over three-quarters of the world’s population. The Research and Knowledge Exchange Directorate manages the whole lifecycle of research and knowledge exchange activities at SOAS, from supporting researchers applying for funding to generating research impact and commercialising new knowledge. It is an exciting time to join the SOAS Research and Knowledge Exchange Directorate as we expand and enhance our research, impact and knowledge exchange offer. You will play a key role in delivering the SOAS Vision and Strategy and contributing to the achievement of ambitious targets, including in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029.
About the Role
As Research Impact and Knowledge Exchange Officer, you will provide high-quality professional support and guidance in the mapping, planning, support and delivery of research impact and knowledge exchange activity at an important time in the lead-up to REF2029. Working with colleagues within the directorate and across SOAS, you will play a key role in building upon and improving our current offer, creating new opportunities, and developing innovation in generating impact and knowledge exchange based on SOAS research, knowledge and expertise. You will proactively engage with SOAS academics and external stakeholders to enable this, delivering training, evaluation and bespoke communications and other activities. You will play an important role in ensuring the development and delivery of world-leading research impact from SOAS, supporting academics to identify and capitalise on opportunities for impact, evaluate interventions and resultant change, and draft case studies to be submitted to REF2029.
You can find further information on the key criteria for the role in the Job Description and Person Specification, along with a full list of duties and responsibilities, which can be found on the SOAS website.
Closing date: Sunday 15th September 2024
Interviews to be held: w/c Monday 30 September 2024
