As a Research Technician you will work as an integral member of the Division’s existing technical team. Reporting to the Lead Technician, you will support the Division’s teaching and research activities by providing an effective and efficient technical service across the Division / defined work area and where required will support wider Medical School activities.
This will include supporting student projects (UG, PGT & PGR), a range of academic research projects and specific or specialist business needs of the Division. You will join a multi-disciplinary technical team with duties which may include assisting the day-to-day maintenance and running of tissue culture laboratories, histological techniques and supporting the Sheffield Brain Tissue Bank (SBTB). The candidate should be strongly motivated, self-driven and able to accept direction and be an excellent team player. Good communication, written and interpersonal skills are expected.
You will adopt high working standards to ensure the Division’s technical team continues to be recognised for its service excellence and exemplary Health and Safety record.
