We are seeking to appoint a Senior Teaching Associate who can contribute to delivering the Department's programmes in German language and cultures and to curriculum development. This is a fixed-term post available from 23rd September 2024 – 31st July 2025 at 0.5FTE. Lancaster offers German as a single honours programme, in combination with Chinese, French, Spanish, Italian and a wide range of non-language subjects, and as a minor. We cater for ab initio and advanced students.
We are a pioneer in multi-disciplinary, degree-level language studies, offering wide-ranging programmes which combine specialist language learning with trans-cultural knowledge and understanding which is both European and global in scope. Our teaching and research spans Europe, Africa, China and North & South America and we deliver both specialist and comparative courses. The Department’s research profile includes literature, film, translation, health humanities, environmental humanities, gender, sexuality, popular culture, the practice of everyday life, intercultural communication, sociolinguistics and language pedagogy. The successful applicant will undertake administrative tasks associated with German modules and the programmes of the Department as a whole, as well as participate in outreach activities.
