The purpose of this role is to support students who are coping with adverse life experiences and/ or mental health difficulties. This involves providing short-term individual counselling and psychoeducational groups to support students in their academic objectives so they can make the most of opportunities offered by the University of St Andrews. This may involve providing information to other staff across the university as appropriate and within Student Services confidentiality agreement, such as providing information to support academic decision making. The role holder will maintain professional standards through keeping records, working in accordance with your accrediting bodies framework and engaging in clinical and management supervisions.
An ability to remain calm under pressure, work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritise work is vital. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, forward-thinking service, working alongside highly qualified, experienced and motivated colleagues.
This is a full-time position, working 36.25 hours per week, however part-time working will be considered.
