The Department of Culture, Communication and Media (CCM) is a department of IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society. It is committed to excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of: Media and Cultural Studies, Art, Design and Museology; Academic writing; English education: Applied Linguistics; Music Education; Multimodality studies; Learning with Digital Technologies.
You will play an important role in the detailed preparation for and delivery of the BA Media. You will contribute to core modules on media history and analysis across the BA Media program and to MA and PhD research. Additionally, you will contribute to research, knowledge exchange etc. In addition to teaching at undergraduate level, you will contribute to Master’s and PhD programmes in media, and to research, knowledge exchange and consultancy activities in ReMAP, the Knowledge Lab, and Culture Lab at UCL East.
You will also play an important role in the development of the new UCL Media Network, generating collaborative approaches to teaching, research and intellectual endeavour across the three faculties.
The post is fixed term and covers 12 months at 0.8 FTE.
A PhD completed or close to completion (or comparable research experience), in film studies, media studies, games studies, information studies and relevant disciplines, and experience of teaching media at BA level in different contexts. Experience in the (interactive) media industries is desirable.
