The role of the Functional Analyst sits within IT Services; however, this isn’t your typical IT role and you don’t necessarily need to have a technical or IT background. The role of the Functional Analyst is much more about interacting with your customers, helping them implement and use FlexiGrant, a dedicated grant management tool. Grant management encompasses the application, assessment, award and delivery of projects funded by an external partner but managed by the University. Customers are drawn from across the University, all faculties and central PS functions.
You will be the champion for the system, you’ll engage with teams to tease out how they could utilise and maximum potential, giving great benefit to the users in terms of minimising the administrative burdens, so they can focus on giving a good service to applicants and funders.
Working within the Research Lifecycle Project, you will help work out what is required, monitoring progress, keeping all parties informed and proactively managing user expectations. There will also be opportunities to assist with other areas of the programme as time and need allows.
To be successful in the role you will need to be able to:
The successful candidate will be fully supported with the opportunity for additional and ongoing training. This may may be system specific or the more general skills required to undertake process mapping, data analysis and end user training.
