We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to provide high quality and comprehensive administrative, secretarial, and project support to Professor Ben Goldacre, Director of Bennett Institute for Applied Data Science and Professor of Evidence-Based Medicine.
The position will suit a highly motivated Executive Assistant with strong organisational, administrative, and project management experience, who is able to work autonomously and efficiently under pressure, and who can exercise a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Responsibilities will include a variety of challenging administrative tasks, in some instances of a sensitive and/or urgent nature, interacting extensively with senior members of the Bennett Institute, the wider department and University, the NHS and other external organisations.
You will possess experience of diary management, making complex travel arrangements, event organisation, and drafting reports. You will also need a high standard of numeracy, together with the ability to organise a varied workload, work to deadlines, and be able to work independently in a positive and pro-active manner. Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook are an essential requirement.
You will be based at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work but you will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.
This is a full or part time position (minimum 30 hours per week – must be five days per week). This position is offered until 31 October 2026 in the first instance.
