To support our continuing growth, we are seeking to appoint a new Lecturer in Finance and Accounting within GCU London. Since we established our London Campus we have gone from strength to strength, recently opening a newly refurbished teaching facility near our Spitalfields campus site in response to a growth of student numbers. We primarily recruit post graduate taught and research students onto a diverse range of business, finance, health, computing, construction and environmental programmes.
As a Lecturer in Finance and Accounting you will have a focus on providing high-quality learning and teaching that is underpinned by scholarly activity. We are keen to receive applications from people who will enhance our delivery of and reputation in finance related curriculum although expertise in other related areas is welcomed. Applicants should hold a PhD and MSc in a related area.
Lecturers are expected to contribute to the delivery and assessment of existing modules, supervision, and the enhancement of the student experience across the range of postgraduate taught and research programmes. Prior experience of supporting student learning, teaching and assessment in higher education and in industry practice is essential. GCU London promotes innovation in learning and teaching and, therefore, we are keen to appoint an individual with experience of e-learning and online environments. A higher education teaching qualification and/or Fellow status with AdvanceHE is desirable. The post holders will also be expected to contribute to ensuring curricula are current and compliant with internal and external regulatory frameworks.
If you wish to know more about these opportunities, or for an informal discussion, please feel free to contact Head of Academic Operations, Tim Jackson (Tim.Jackson@GCU.ac.uk).
As the University for the Common Good, we are committed to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as our values in everything that we do. As such, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who demonstrate the GCU Values.
Glasgow Caledonian University is committed to a fair and transparent recruitment process that is free from bias so that we can attract and retain a high performing workforce which makes a critical contribution to our success.
The selection process for this role is a two-stage process. Short listed applicants will be requested to complete an on-line microteach on October 24th 2024. Successful applicants will then progress to a second stage and undertake a formal panel interview on November 5th 2024.
Please note that the appointments will be made on the first point of the salary scale (unless by exception).
