Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Civil Engineering.
The WaterFutures project is an EPA and DAFM funded, multidisciplinary, research project which started in April 2021. The project, which has Irish and one international partners, is investigating the future responses of water, ecology and environment to agents of change. The project is developing, adapting and incorporating appropriate useful models into systems being used by the EPA in responding to the requirements of the Water Framework Directive. The project team and especially this post-doctoral researcher will have a key role in the project. This project is focused on improving how modelling tools are used to inform catchment management and policy. This position will provide an opportunity to develop and implement new research for water and nutrient modelling across multiple scales. The role will involve, together with other researchers in the team, developing an in-depth knowledge of current research projects and datasets relating to meteorology, climate change hydrogeological flow paths, catchment characteristics, and pollution loading sources. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with a range of key stakeholders and related research projects.
Salary Range: €44,847 - €51,313 per annum
