About us
The School of Security Studies at King‘s College London is dedicated to the understanding of security issues in an increasingly complex and uncertain world. Harnessing the depth and breadth of expertise across the War Studies and Defence Studies Departments, and the King’s Institute for Applied Security Studies, we are one of the largest multi-disciplinary communities of scholars in the world engaged in the teaching and research of all aspects of conflict, war, security and defence.
About the role
The Department of War Studies seeks to recruit a full time two-year fixed-term Lecturer in Intelligence and Security Studies Education, to support our MA programme in Intelligence and International Security (IIS) and related teaching, other teaching in the department as appropriate, and to undertake high-quality education-related scholarship. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in Intelligence Studies and a proven publication and teaching track record. We are particularly seeking candidates with expertise in, but not limited to, British intelligence, covert action, intelligence and policymaking.
The successful candidate will understand and develop a variety of methods to deliver these modules and to assess students learning and provide feedback. The post is offered on the Academic Education Pathway (AEP), providing a specialist contract that focuses on the delivery of education, education-related scholarship, and leadership in education. The role is campus-based and scheduled to begin in academic year 2024/25. The start date will be mutually agreed but no later than 6 January 2025.
War Studies is located within the School of Security Studies and the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. Together, we support an inclusive culture and diversity for our staff and students. We are committed to encourage further growth from diverse groups, and we look forward to welcoming applicants of all abilities, whom we are able to support with our flexible varied working practices.
